Description: In nature tree up to 15 m tall, with single trunk, 1.2 m in diameter. Bark is reddish-brown, mottled with green and grey, becoming grayish-brown. Crown wide spreading, open rounded with rising branches. Branchlets cylindrical to slightly four-sided. Scale leaves on branchlets 1-2 mm long, light to dark green. Male cones 3-6 mm long, 2-5 mm wide. Mature seed cones nearly sphericall or slightly oblong, 2.5-4 cm long, brown to grayish-brown at maturity. 10-15 seeds per scale, 5-6 mm long, dark brown.
