Plant with very short stem, growing solitary or in clusters of many rosettes; 15-20 pale glaucous, ovate-lanceolate leaves, 40-50 cm long with dark green lines; toothless, slightly waved, pale cartilaginous margins; up to 3, 50-60 cm high, dull red inflorescence with many to 50 cm long branches. - The name refers to the Karasmountains in Namibia.
