Description: Stemless, solitary or weakly clustering plant; 60-80 cm tall, erect, slightly inward curving, lanceolate-attenuate, dull greyish-green leaves, forming a dense rosette; pungent, dark brown toothed margins; 100-150 cm high erected, often scarlet in bud, then turning to bright yellow inflorescence with 3-4 branches. - Named in honour of the British collector Wickens.
