Uses: The roots and leaves are used in the treatment of fractures, injury, and backache and leg pain caused by rheumatism. Ropes are made from fibres that are obtained from the young twigs. It is also ornamental.
Etymology: Named after Lady Diana Beaumont, 19th century British dignitery from Yorkshire.
Flowering Time: March-April.

Description: An woody evergreen climber, up to 20 m tall. The barkresembles cork. The branches contain a poisonous milky sap. The leaves are opposite, oval with varied dimentions – 7-18 cm wide, 15-30 cm long. The inflorescence is a racymewith 3-20 flowers. The flower has pale green sepals, the corolla is trumpet-shaped with 5 lobes. The flower is creamy-white, 6-13 cm long. The fruit is green, thick woody follicle.
