Description:
In nature tree can reach over 30 m, with a trunk of up to 1m in diameter. Smooth bark, reddish-brown. Sparse crown. Branchlets cylindrical or slightly four-sided. Scale leaves on branchlets about 2 mm long, grayish-green with wax deposits, untoothed. Male cones 2-3 mm long, 2-2.5 mm wide with 3-5 pairs of pollen scales each with 3-4 pollen sacs. Seed cones slightly oblong 1-2.3 cm long, silver-gray at maturity, or turning brown after opening. 2-11 seeds per scale, around 3-4 mm long.
